Pat’s Restaurant in Henderson, LA has a special place in my heart. Growing up I would make an almost weekly pilgrimage with my aunts and grandparents to Pat’s (with the occasional deviation to Robin’s). I had one of every post card for sale in the lobby and the red and white checkered tabled cloths are ingrained in my DNA. So when we learned that Cy & Gwendolyn’s first date was at the legendary Fisherman’s Wharf, I already had that picture up there planned out in my head. As an added bonus, we got to have a beer and watch the Kentucky Derby amongst a bar full of old Cajuns! But first things first. Gwendolyn had a barn in mind for a few family photos to start off the day. There we got to meet their adorable son, Clayton, along with a couple giant sheep dogs and a whole herd of goats (one in particular that wanted very badly to be in the family photos). To round out the day, we headed over to the family’s houseboat (conveniently located just across the levee from Pats!) to relax and get all those kissy shots in the privacy of the family property.
